September saw grime’s resident tempo master body a UKG beat produced by Izco – read about that one here. He’s back this month with brand new heat, dropping a single on all good platforms both featuring production from himself.

‘Miscalculated’ features Nico going in deep on an number of topics. At the beginning of the track he muses over the grind of precarious jobs, noting the mundane task of “paying for your social life, passion and bae.” As the track opens up, he extols the virtues of balance and noting the stress of broken down friendships. It’s classic Nico: insightful content that is packaged well’. The beat is full of thick synths, while booming 808s vibrate the headphones like no ones business. You can find ‘Miscalculated’ on Spotify, but if you cop the Bandcamp version there’s an extra track. ‘Incredible’ is on more of a rap tip, a detuned sample opening up the track before dropping into syrup sweet melody lines. This one’s got more of a swagger to it, as Nico flows over the beat with that characteristic nonchalance. Overall, it’s another collection of good tracks from Nico Lindsay, and at £2 on Bandcamp you’d be mad not to cop.
