Nico Lindsay is the grime scene’s tempo master, with a back catalogue that hits straight up grime, hip hop and wot u call it electronica. Izco is a producer/DJ who’s holding down slots on both Rinse and Mode FM. Last years ‘TEK 5’ served up five tracks of UKG goodness, ranging from the rugged to the more laid back vibe – but all tracks are club ready, nonetheless. There’s also his edits pack ‘Kojo’ which flips a load of classics into garage bangers, so check that if you have the time.
Izco’s latest track ‘This’ deploys an army of skippy percussion for Nico to lay down some bars over. It’s a trademark delivery, typically off hand but never lackadaisical, with some funny one liners like ‘ain’t got a six pack, but I got a loud one.” Izco blends some bright keys in between the grit, and all in all its an A* link up for the club and the headphones.
