Jamaican sound-system culture and grime share an intrinsic link, and grime has taken many of its elements to form its unique sound. D Power, Jammz, Footsie and Wiley know plenty about this link; they’ve teamed up for a brand new track titled ‘Irie’ which is produced by G-Track from The HeavyTrackers.

Jammz takes the opening verse, shouting out his label and tallying off some recent achievements with the line “tell em I am Grime, and that / this year we brought vinyl back.” Footsie’s up next, with a verse that leans into his Jamaican heritage; while Wiley celebrates the longevity and influence of grime. D Power rounds up the track and riffs off his hook, delivering a verse that extols good health and throws in some hype bars for good measure.

Overall, ‘Irie’ is a great track. The bass bubbles and the melodies throb to create a hefty sound palette that’s full of vibes.
